“Just remember what you’re old pal said / Boy you’ve got a friend in me”

DelGirl Gifts had their maiden voyage across the river to Tynemouth Market at the weekend. After apprehension and the unforeseen last minute self doubt I’m happy to say it was a great success.

I really can’t say enough how much it meant to have the help and support of my friends. The awesome Carmen came round to DelGirl Towers the night before to help me get prepared after having just worked a full shift was then also waiting for me on arrival at the market at 8am to get set up! How amazing!

The lovely Joolz who trekked an hour and a half to reach us by public transport then began her ever so refined articulation of the history behind our Fair Trade products to passing folk whilst dressed accordingly in her DelGirl Sheepskin coat. (We really should have bought those flat caps Joolz!)

The arrival of market veteran Amanda’s presence no doubt encouraged all those who recognised her cheerful face to hover round our tables surveying all we had to offer.

We were then spoilt by the appearance of trouble in the form of my dear friend Mr Michael Ward injected another level of fun and merriment to the day.

A heartfelt thank you to you all it meant the world to me.

DelGirl Gifts look forward to another Saturday in Tynemouth and hope you can call by to keep our momentum going. Hope to see you all there!

Much Love,

DGG

So, here comes a delivery / Straight from my heart to you

Today is going to be a good day.

We’re expecting a delivery from one of our main suppliers of loveliness, which should be followed by another in the next few days.

As a new business owner I’m so excited that after trawling trade fair stands and visiting the most random places on our recent Asian Adventure we have found some fantastic wholesalers of stunning products I’m sure people will love. And of course, as a shopaholic I’ve had to order one of everything for myself. It really is a tough job.

We’ve had so much fun on this journey so far, and it’s only just begun. A big thank you to everyone that’s helped us get this far. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed meeting some lovely people. As always, we came across some not so lovely too, but they won’t hold us back, we’ll get to that another day.

Now off to sit at the window with a nice cup of Java and wait for the van to arrive.

Much love,

DGG

“It’s a new dawn / It’s a new day / It’s a new life for me / And I’m feelin’ good“

Where to begin? Oh yes. Stating the obvious.

I LOVE SHOPPING!

So when I found out I was going to be made redundant from my office job the first concern I had wasn’t “How will I pay my bills and keep a roof over my head?”…it was more along the lines of “It’s coming up to Christmas so there will be even MORE gorgeous things I’ll want to treat myself to”.

I’ve often enjoyed helping friends pick out gifts and think doing so on a bigger scale could be quite fun (and also help feed my addiction) so here i am…starting a business sourcing all manner of wonderful goods from across the globe.

Along with the two most amazing friends anyone could ever ask for we’re hoping to have some fun so why not join us and pick up some cool new stuff along the way.

We are just getting our ducks lined up and will be back before you know it with an update.

Much love,

DGG
